We’re Rory and Aoife, the owners of The Paddle Shack. We are partners in business, and in life, and we’re not too sure which came first anymore! We have used our passion for quality outdoor experiences to be able to create our own company allowing us to share this passion with you. No matter what your experience or needs, our highly experienced staff are sure to add that personal touch to your adventure to ensure you have a truly memorable experience. We can’t wait to meet you all on the water!

Rory is organised, efficient, highly dependable, solution-focused and creative with his ideas. He has spent many years working in outdoor centres around Ireland and Asia.

Aoife has also spent many years working in outdoor centres around Ireland and Asia (that’s how she and Rory met!). Together with their 3 legged dog Ziggy, they love to spend their spare time cruising the river Shannon on their houseboat.

“In June this year I had the privilege of accompanying the Limerick migrant Social club on a Canoe trip of the river Shannon.  It really was a spectacular trip and facilitated in a fun; informative and safe way by our hosts Aoife and Rory.  Aoife and Rory have years of experience in outdoor orienteering and have lots of stories to tell which really made the trip fun and interesting.  After such a harsh lock down in direct provision an experience of outdoor canoeing on the river was such a release and the groups enthusiasm was palatable.  We all really enjoyed it“
