Glide down the Shannon River discovering the deep Irish wilderness and all its wonders with our exceptional Stand up Paddle Board adventure. Located near the picturesque town of Carrick On Shannon, brimming full of history and character, this premium venture is ideal for couples, friends and companions. Guided by one of our expert instructors, you’ll discover your love for the Stand up Paddle Board experience.
As you gently paddle your way through the twists and turns of the Shannon, you’ll uncover the delicate sights and sounds of the breathtaking County Leitrim landscape. Prior knowledge is not needed as you’ll take to the Stand Up Paddle boarding like a duck to water, weaving with confidence along the River Shannon, instructed by one of our skilled tutors.
Each trip is different. Like all Rivers, in one instance it will be smooth and calm followed by the thrill of a more challenging water adventure. All stand up paddle bookings are private groups, you only paddle with the people you book with! Each group must have a minimum of 1 adult in the group.
The instructors will be there to make sure your stand up paddle experience is safe and magical, navigating you along your trip. Essential equipment is provided. Just bring your sea legs and a vision of adventure. We’ll look after you.
We are now offering a special family rate: 2 adults and 2 children is €120 with any additional child at €25 per child OR 1 adult and 3 children for €110 with any additional child at €25 per child. Children under 6 go free (must by accompanied in a double kayak with an adult).

- Casual sportswear, light Jacket, change of footwear.
- Something to wear on your feet on the water.
- Water, suncream and sunglasses! The reflection from the water can be quite strong.
- Towel
- Your own wetsuit if you desire, or we can provide one
- Glasses wearers – please secure them or wear contacts for the session
- Personal belongings: we can’t take responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings at any time during your kayaking session. Please leave valuables at home.
- 2 Hour Private Paddle Board session with a qualified instructor

If you need to cancel your trip we will require 2 days notice, at which time we will be able to reschedule your trip for a later available date. Any cancellation of less than 2 days or failure to show up for your booking, will result in the full amount being charged. (Notice of cancellation or changes of dates should be made by email or phone call only.)
For groups of 6 or more, 1 weeks notice is required.
The Paddle Shack reserves the right to cancel any reservation if the conditions on the water are deemed to be unsafe. Rain is not considered unsafe but strong winds may be. These cancellations can either be rescheduled free of charge or refunded at 100%.
We have a no alcohol or drug policy for the safety and enjoyment of all, this includes prior consumption. Any breach of this policy will result in a cancellation of the event with no refund.
