Let us take you exploring along the Shannon River with our premium Kayaking experience. Our expert instructors will gently steer you along, while you discover the idyllic comfort of a Sit-on-top Kayak.
As you paddle along, you'll take in the wonders and sights of the ever-changing Shannon River, situated near the welcoming historic town of Carrick-on-Shannon. Enjoying the beautiful Irish vista as the Shannon twists and weaves you to your destination.
No tour is ever the same. One moment you will enjoy the gentle lapping of the waves against your Kayak, and in the next, you'll be pulled into the thrill and excitement of a more challenging river adventure.
Our seasoned instructors are on hand to navigate you in the right direction, making sure that you’re safe and secure during your trip.
All groups are private, you only paddle with the people you booked with! Each group needs at least 1 adult in the group.
Essential equipment is provided and there are double kayaks available upon request. All you need is a sense of wonder and adventure, and we'll do the rest.
We are now offering a special family rate: 2 adults and 2 children is €120 with any additional child at €25 per child OR 1 adult and 3 children for €110 with any additional child at €25 per child. Children under 6 go free (must by accompanied in a double kayak with an adult).

- Casual sportswear, light Jacket, change of footwear.
- Something to wear on your feet on the water.
- Water, suncream and sunglasses! The reflection from the water can be quite strong.
- Towel
- Your own wetsuit if you desire, or we can provide one
- Glasses wearers – please secure them or wear contacts for the session
- Personal belongings: we can’t take responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings at any time during your kayaking session. Please leave valuables at home.

If you need to cancel your trip we will require 2 days notice, at which time we will be able to reschedule your trip for a later available date. Any cancellation of less than 2 days or failure to show up for your booking, will result in the full amount being charged. (Notice of cancellation or changes of dates should be made by email or phone call only.)
For groups of 6 or more, 1 weeks notice is required.
The Paddle Shack reserves the right to cancel any reservation if the conditions on the water are deemed to be unsafe. Rain is not considered unsafe but strong winds may be. These cancellations can either be rescheduled free of charge or refunded at 100%.
We have a no alcohol or drug policy for the safety and enjoyment of all, this includes prior consumption. Any breach of this policy will result in a cancellation of the event with no refund.
If you feel unwell or have come into contact with a case or suspected case of COVID-19, please reschedule or cancel your trip.
